Get Set For A Really Great Time At
Wine & Food In The Park
On Saturday 13th March 2010!

The 12th annual South Burnett Wine & Food In The Park Festival will be held at Memorial Park in Kingaroy from 10:00am to 9:00pm on Saturday 13th March 2010.

WAFITP is the largest Festival in the South Burnett and one of the largest of its kind in south-east Queensland. Last year close to 6,500 people attended and this year organisers expect even bigger crowds.

This family-oriented Festival features a Giant Wine Tent manned by all the South Burnett's leading wineries; the PCA Regional Cuisine Cook-Offs (which this year will be led by Queensland Chef Of The Year David Pugh from Brisbane's Restaurant II); a new South Burnett Food Producers Tent; and a large open air Food Court and bar.

The Festival's all-day entertainment program will feature 8 Ball Aitken, Pete Denahy, Lou Bradley and Lance Friend, along with colourful street performers who'll be passing through the crowds all day and night. Admission is just $10 for adults, and under-18s are free.

You can find out complete details about this year's event on the Wine & Food In The Park festival website.

Next South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society Meeting: Friday 26th March 2010
The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding its next monthly meeting on Friday 26th March 2010 at the 1913 Council Chambers (immediately behind the Kingaroy Art Gallery) in Edward Street, Kingaroy at 6:30pm.

The Society is a relaxed social group that gets together on the last Friday of every month to learn more about all types of wines. Admission is the cost of whatever wines are drunk on the night split amongst everyone who attends (usually $7 to $10) . And if you come along, you're also encouraged to bring a plate of finger foods for shared snacks.

The Society has no membership dues and everyone is welcome to come along, try wines and voice whatever opinions they like. All opinions get pooled into a majority vote (which are sometimes passed back to the winemakers). You can find out more details by emailing the Secretary or by phoning Dafyd in business hours on (07) 4162-3899.
